Floritz is a new fusion Asian restaurant, located in the recently renovated Cliff Townhouse building on St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin. The name is in reference to the opulent, over-sized tropical Christian Lacroix wallpaper which gives the space it’s drama and flamboyance. It’s also a nod to its proximity to the park itself and the many flora and fauna growing there.
CI Studio worked closely with the Floritz team to craft a brand that complements the aesthetic of the building itself and the interior architecture. In doing so, matching their vision for a space that wows and encapsulates that of a lively, vibrant, dining experience.
The design involved developing a unique logotype for Floritz that oozed opulence with its distinct letterforms and typographic flourishes, complementing the whimsical style of the surreal interiors.
A secondary asset stamp is formed from a repetition of 2s of the no.22 address set in a circular shape, evoking an oriental tone and paying tribute to the culinary influences on offer. This 22 is the basis for the pattern, designed in a manner that is subliminal and luxe.
Menu covers reference hues within the wallpaper, changing from delicate pastel to a more intense colour as the reflection of light changes. A holographic foil logotype adds an effervescent layer, transitioning from soft gold hues through to hot or cool metallic flares. Typography within the menus is carefully crafted to evoke a classic yet contemporary feel.
The main signage and custom built menu box are set in polished brass and add to the sense of destination. Catching the attention of the high street footfall while being respectful of the protected Georgian facade.
Craft, detail and texture provide nuance throughout, while complementing the decadent space and sophisticated cuisine. The visual identity helps convey an unforgettable experience and positions Floritz as a modern and quintessentially Dublin dining address.
